Saranjit’s vast experience in civil litigation involving corporate, commercial and aviation disputes, personal and corporate insolvency, receivership, shareholders and directors disputes, arbitration, estate disputes, tax related, banking and real property litigation has over the years seen him represent and advice various public companies in the aviation and logistics industries, leading FMCG companies, foreign Governments and a range of individual and corporations in diverse industries.

Saranjit has considerable experience at all levels and tiers from the High Court right up to the Federal Court. He has also appeared in all tiers as counsel and has had the privilege of working with leading senior counsels in Malaysia, Singapore as well as in India.

Saranjit has over 15 years of experience in the aviation sector acting for airlines and insurers on a wide range of contentious matters involving commercial contracts, carriage of cargo disputes, passenger claims, ground handling contracts and disputes, and other legal and regulatory issues concerning the aviation and logistics industry.

Notable representations include:

  • Advising the airlines and representing the insurers in connection with aviation accidents involving:

    • Laos Airlines Flight 301 in Pakse, Laos
    • MASWings accident in Kudat, Sabah

Mei completed her pupillage in Messrs Saranjit Singh and pursued her legal practice with an accent in banking litigation where she drew the wealth of her experience from her 10 year stint in retail and commercial banking including merger projects from Southern Bank and CIMB.

Mei also acquired experience in her tenure with Messrs Saranjit Singh in the field of aviation litigation, in particular disputes involving aviation commercial agreements and training bonds. Mei continues to be heavily involved in aviation disaster claims, in particular Malaysian Airlines MH 370 and MH 17. Mei also has experience in representing her clients at the High Court and Court of Appeal.

Apart from contentious matters, Mei also advises clients on franchising in the FMCG industries and probate and estate administration. Mei is tenacious in representing the interests of her clients and is very focus in attaining their commercial objectives.

Roshan joined Messrs Saranjit Singh in 2015 having prior experience in Immigration Law and developed an interest in commercial dispute resolutions involving contractual claims with fraud elements, carriage of cargo disputes and general debt recovery.

Roshan has the ability to negotiate and to find the solutions in achieving the best possible settlements for his clients

DHIYA DAMIA SHUKRI

Dhiya completed her pupillage in Messrs Saranjit Singh in July 2015. Throughout her tenure with Messrs Saranjit Singh, Dhiya has assisted her senior in Trial and Appellate preparations. She also jointly looks after the portfolio of aviation breach of bonds agreements and is actively involved in the MH 370 and MH 17 aviation insurance claims.

Dhiya has the ability to breakdown complex legal issues in aviation and logistic disputes as well as tort-related litigation towards providing viable options that is holistic in attaining the ultimate aim of her clients.

Experience include:

  • Providing legal research and support on issues arising in aviation accident claims involving Lao Airlines, MASwings and both MH 370 and MH 17
